Hi guys and gals ,
Been a while since I posted anything been really busy Bronco went to paint and body shop and now it is actually a Purple Bronco. Operating on a small buget can be a real pain. Took forever to afford the parts the bronco needed and then find someone to to the body work and paint it ( I suck at body work ).
Working at Napa really help me find the things I needed and someone to help me with getting the thing painted. But the good lord put a gentleman with a small one man shop in my path and he was great. The bronco was in really rough shape when it arrived at his shop needing a lot of rebuild work. But Danny Cunningham did a terrific job for a mere 700.00 dollars and me buying materials ( which I get great discount a Napa ) Its taking him a little over a month to get it finished but it was worth the wait.
He replace the quarters, rockers and realinged the new doors, fenders , and hood, straighted the body and painted it. He always kept me updated on what he was doing and would call me to come look at what he had done from time to time.
My wife and I even built a small one Bronco garage so we could work on it out of the weather.
We just got it back home yesterday so now we can start on getting chrome on it and doing the interior work
Hopefully we can get it on the road before too much snow hits here so far so good. Well I'm gonna put some new pictures take a look and let me know what you all think so far.
Thanks,
My Friends at work have ribbed me a lot about the color but I wanted something different. My wife picked the base color and I mixed it . (adding a little this and that and writing down the recipe so to speak.) Oh by the way does anyone know where I can aquire the rubber window seal at the base of the rear window that goes on the top of the tailgate. I've looked at the Bronco Graveyard and Mills but can't seem to find it .
Beautiful truck do not listen to your friends at work.
That one would look great on the trail.
Real eye catching.
Remember it takes a real man to where pink or drive a purple truck.
I LOVE it
And I too would drive it in a minute
Thanks a lot wileec,
I appreciate the response. I don't worry about too much about any negitive comments. I figure the U.S.M.C window decal will quite most of them. Its got to have a least one on it somewhere. Being a Marine I just can't leave that off (ha ha)
I will post some more picts as it gets put back together. I think this summer I'm
gonna invest in some new bumpers they are a little scratch up but not too bad but i would like some new ones.
We are kinda rushing the put together mode not only because we are excited about the prospect but winter is here and we are gonna need the 4x4 any time now ya know.
Oh 94 XLT I ask my local ford dealers for that part and was told it was discontinued so any other outlets please let me know and thanks a lot for the info
Thanks firemanbatt for the website. they have everything that i could ever need for this bronce. i finally got it all done and legal today. i am waiting on a really nice set of brush bars that i got off of ebay for really cheap which will help the look. the step bars are on now and they look great if i must say so myself. i hope to get some pics of it posted soon. i have one problem though it isn't holding charge at all. it has a new alternator and heavy duty battery. i have check the voltage regulator and it seems to be fine. i give up hope to take it to a electrical mechanic see if they can find it. My break lights our being a problem i get them working and then they stop again i think it might be a wire issue but it has new bulbs the fuse has been changed, i have turn signals and parking lights along with backup lights so still have to figure that out too. if anyone would have any thoughts on the brake lights or the not staying charged please i'm open to any advice. thanks to all that have helped me along the way with advice and tips and even links to find the parts i need. this is the best website! i'll let you all know when i get the new pics posted for all to see.
I found the seal you were asking about at JC Whitney. That's where we bought the seals when I was working on an 87 bronco for a friend. I'm sure they still sell them, if you still need it.
Looks good!!! Nice MN Vikings colors...you'll need some gold in there somewhere though! You guys need to post your picks in the thread so we know there are pictures. Here you go!
Yeah it is purple allright! But I love it! Please no gold oh please no gold. I have a bronco that is the original color of yours. What color interior? Mine is blue. Mine has zero rust, very minor body damage, and semi decent paint. Can't wait to paint it, but I have a 351w that needs to go in first. You know constructon, it's either all the time and no money, or all the money and no time. plus I have lots of toys, all in my sig plus quads and a streetbike too. I don't know what to modify first. Nice truck, please post when chrome is done. P.S. Are you gonna lift it? How far?
Thanks ya all for the support and encouragement,
The Bronco was a Eddie Bauer and started life Red and gold with all the chrome strips and all. It was white when I purchased it for 500.00 with a new jasper engine with less than 2000 miles on it from my employer. Amtower Auto Supply ( a NAPA dist.)
I stripped it of the chrome to replace with my own touches and changed the interior from red/tan to purple black and chrome. Its at the exhuaust shop my uncle works at for new Flowmaster duals and 4" chrome tips as well as getting the charging system up to snuff. CJE07 how did you post picts with thread ?
As far as lifting it I dont' think I will. It sits pretty nice as is I am gonna update the chassis with new shocks and poly bushings all around in time. In my state any mods to chassie call for a modified sticker which is super strict as well as 25.00 to thirty dollars a sticker. It will be a daily driver to work and around town so driveability is a must.
Oh by the way the thing runs awesome on the street. It ain't real fast on takeoff but top end is real nice. Once I get it back and get it cleaned up nice will post some more picts. Thanks again yall
