96 B3000 Engine racing.
Hello all,
I just parked my 93 F150 for some much needed repair work & picked up a 96 B3000 this week. It is a 5 speed manual 4x4 & is great little truck! Has the usual issues for a truck with 135,000 miles.
Odd thing happening right now is engine continues to race with foot off gas when I am driving. It idles at around 1000 rpm. When I shift gears at say 2500 with foot off gas, engine speeds up to 300 and stays there. Same thing if I depress clutch & take my foot off gas while driving.
Any ideas? Maybe IAC?

I got a chance to check it this past weekend & it all works freely but one of the throttle return torsion springs was broken. I bent a new leg on & re installed, it may have made a slight difference but problem did'nt go away.
In searching the forum, I had noticed a lot of posts about the same problem so I am checking the IAC and TPS along with looking for vac. leaks next.
