4x4 not working with remote start

I just installed a remote start on my 97 exp 4.0L. When I start it with remote 4x4 wont engage, if I start with key works fine. Feels like 4x4low engaged but didnt try, no light on though. 4x4 high did not engage. maybe 4x4 module needs power at start? any ideas thanks
