I was told copper was no good for use with fuel, we have used it for years in the derby cars with no issues. Can anyone put forth some knowledge on this?
Copper cracks from vibration, and having fuel pump across an engine could be a real bad problem. I have seen cars burned up and I knew a heck of a lady who
burned to death from a gasoline fire. Copper is bad, as is rubber line unless it is changed from time to time. I might add even steel can crack. Copper is the weakest link in the chain I'd avoid it. By the way the steel exhaust headers we use on engines today get hot enough to light off a spray of 50/50 coolant. I didn't think that was something that could happen but I saw it and put the fire out. I also saw a power steering fluid fire, line cracked and sprayed on a cat.
