Nice Garrity.
Those are the exact same model and size of tires I have on my Bronco. But, savage, I warn you, it is a Mud Tire. It's loud at speed, and a little squirrelly under hard braking due to the tall sidewall and tall treads. It also decreased my Gas Mileage a good 2-5% over the All Terain tires.
If you like Weekend Warrior Off-Roading, and drive less than 1,000 miles a month on your Bronco, and don't mind a slight decrease in MPG, or the sound, then I say go for the Kumhos! (The top Photo is what I have)
I've never had an ounce of trouble in Delaware Snow, or Mud less than 2 feet deep with the Kumhos on my 1993 Bronco 4x4.
You can get them on TireRack.com (alot of people don't realize that TireRack has a distributor warehouse in Newark) and they ship quick. There are other Garages that can order these too. I think JustTires also carries Kumho.
I'll warn you, DO NOT get tires from Ron's Discount Tires on Naamans' Rd in Wilmington. I had them install my Kuhmos, and all 4 of the valve stems failed. ALL 4! I've never had a single Valve Stem fail in 30 years, and then all 4 on the same truck. And they balanced them improperly too.
Luckily JustTires allowed me to buy the protection package on my tires even though I bought them somewhere else, so all the valve stem replacements were covered.
It is where you have thin cuts put in the tread. Look at the difference between the BFG MT and the BFG AT. The little cuts in the tread are sipes. Better yet look at a Bridgestone Blizzak tire and you will see tons of sipes in the tread. That is what makes the Blizzak a great tire in the snow and on ice.
No, I'm not sure if I posted on this or not but I'm running Procomp Xtremes, I should get to try them out in the snow today maybe. I was origanally looking at BFG's and Coopers before I got these, both are good tires.
Anyone seen any of these in person? They are new this year fro Pro Comp.
I think the 305/70r18's would maybe fit on my stock wheels. 35.1" tall by 12.2" wide. It says they'll fit on an 8" wide wheel.
I'm not a big fan of that tire. The STS has a funky tread pattern that only seems to work on road. Now the Trxus MT tire is a great all around tire. I ran a set on my Range Rover which was a DD and trail rig. The tires did great on ice and snow covered roads while still doing well off road too. The only downside with Interco tires is they seem to have terrible quality control and take a lot of weight to get them balanced.
