Question Ground wires on rag joint

I just recently replaced the steering rag joint on my 77 F150, the old coupler was factory riveted so I had to grind the rivets and replace with bolts ($8 part at the local parts store). There was 2 ground wires on the factory rivets, one on either side, both had been cut...any idea what these would have gone to from the factory? I have racked my brain trying to figure it out...but I have not a clue. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chilloski

I think the wires on the rag joint bring ground up the column but I may be wrong.

The wires are the ground for the horn/column.run a wire from one side to the other of the rag joint.Use round wire terminal connectors to hook them to the bolts on either side.
