Converting Manual to Power steering
I have a 1979 F-100 with manual steering. Does anyone know what I will need to convert to power steering? I have a 302 and automatic trans.

Either way you'd need the appropriate gearbox. I got one for a 79 F150 4x4 for $40 at the local yard, but they go for about $75 around here usually. Correct steering shaft and PS pump, along with bracketry, hoses. You might need pulleys for the front of your engine. You might need new tie rods but i don't think so.

Would you know where I could find a steering shaft? I'm converting my 73 f100 4X4 to power steering and I cannot find the steering shaft anywhere. How do I know which on eto buy. My gear box is off a 76 4x4 and it has the rag joint.
Thanks for any help....

I don't know who you are talking to but, discussing parts/commerce on the forum is verboten..it must be done off line through the messaging system

I think the new ones are $120.00 if you can find one.

All I would like to know is if the steering shaft pic you posted is for sale or not? I know what it looks like I'm just trying to find one to purchase.
