I am kickin the idea around of adding a 2 inch leveling kit to my 89 f-150. the truck already has a 6 inch superlift and i'd really like to level the front out with the back. i'm curious to know if the 6 in axle drops are long enough to keep the suspention geometry intact. i have also thought about swapping in 8 in lift coils from skyjacker. right now i run 36x14.50 pj's and i want to go up to a 38 but i strongly don't like the idea of a body lift. any thoughts or ideas are much appreciated.
I'd also stick with the 36" tires unless you want to be constantly snapping axles.
Kudos on that one billybob! Any bigger you might concider SAS with moly axle shafts. My buddy is running 35 spline Mosers with 38x14.5 Boggers on his Dana 44, it has held up great... and he runs his stuff hard!
Dont know if it will work the same,
But when i put a 4" lift on my f-250 i just put an add a leaf in the back spring pack
and it leveled my truck out just perfact.
you talking about adding an "add-a-leaf" to the front spring packs? F150s run coils so that'd be a no go. As of now my trucks is higher in the back and lower in the front. So i either wanna put a coil spacer up front or new coils. I'm sure the truck would benefit from new coils. It is 17-18 Years old now.
yea the coils in the truck now are 2 year old superlift 6 in. lift coils. i was looking at just a simple coil spring spacer from bronco graveyard but i'm still concerned about the front end geometry being off, depending on whether or not the 6 inch drop brackets are long enough for 8 inches of lift.
also everyone if i do choose to just lower the back of the truck the rear blocks are stacked, i know a bad idea but i didn't have anything to do with that. can i remove the factory block with the spring tab and leave just the lift block, or will that throw off my pinion angle?
