Hi, I just joined up today because I am a 73-79 ford truck nut. I am currently restoring a 1978 F-250 super cab short bed 4x4. I no ford did not make this truck but I shortened the frame to make it into a short bed. It is the truck that ford should of made. Anyway I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with putting an overdrive in one of these trucks. I no gear vendor makes a bolt on unit but I'm not sure how well it works. They are expensive. I thought of putting an AOD in but I have to put a computer control on to do that. Does anyone have any wisdom for me?
Thanks
