Its going to depend a lot more on the injectors than everything else. The big oil and fuel are supporting roles to let the injectors do their thing. 400? Easily. Too much for rods? Probably. The one thing that catches my eye is the turbo . . . I have the BB, that and the H2 are worlds apart. If you're going that hot, you want more than the mild upgrade that the Garrett is. It a great turbo, don't get me wrong, but you're talking about a volume that would be more than it wants to deal with.
if your looking to get crazy, get you a QSSB quick spool from WOP.
wide open performance . com,,,,,,,,,,they have pretty much the most innovative parts for the 7.3 to make that big power, forged rods, cranks, crank girdle and main studs, turbos, injectors, H 11 head studs, fire ring kit, HP intercooler, and with the right tunes your looking 500 plus HP, 1000 plus trq.
GOT TO PAY TO PLAY...............
If we're talking about the truck in your sig. then you should have the forged rods( A quick peek in the looky hole will tell) and 400 would not be too much. I think I remeber reading forged is good up to about 450 or so. Now if its an 01 with PMR's then maybe not so good. Also I think you need to add BTS to that list just to get it to the ground without breaking the input shaft.
First off, regear to 4.30's or 4.56's it will be alot less strain on the transmission and engine. Then upgrade the clutch, i would go with a double disc organic clutch. With the right programming (Jody Tipton), You can obtain 450hp or push 500 hp safely on forged rods.
For the engine, head studs, fuel system, WOP QSSB <-($2700)...(sell the ATS and get rid of the stock turbo), or a stock H2E turbo would be best. Then add the fuel such as stage 2 or 530 hybrids. If you wanted big oil, then do not go Hybrids, i would go single shot stage 2 or smaller stage 3. I think BD 530's would flow too much fuel for what you want, if you only wan 400-450hp, i would do the turbo upgrade, fuel system, intercooler, and big oil, And then finally the injectors.
BTS is for autos is it not?..im not lookingfor super extreme power, just whatever I can push my rods too. so in the 400 region.
OOPS, sorry didn't see the 6spd in the sig. its been a long day and all the numbers and letters arestartingtoruntogather.
Strokin is hitting it right on the head with what he is recomending, unbfortunatley my engine will have to blow before I can justify to my wife and kids spending four to six grand.
Kevin Barr pulls a heavy-azz sled with his 6 speed, and he has about 500hp and well over 1000 lbs torque to an unmodified internal tranny with a double disk clutch. And on the other hand Kwikkordead roasted a tranny in high gear with much less torque.

Your're a freakin spoung Kris. It's funny how after being on here you can remember everybody's trucks like your own.
From what I have heard, the stock forged rods are good to about 600 horse. That might have even been rear wheel. Stage II singles, and H2E and a jody will put you right at 500 horse. Add the big oil and your torque curve broadens out and you gain a little more. Head gaskets are a must, head studs. . . probably a good idea(don't have them yet, saving them for the compound setup.) Fuel system smooths everything out and adds a little more. Mainly good for a healthy engine. Clutch is absolutely necessary. I have the ceremetalic clutch, after it broke in, I have never seen it slip. We'll see what happens with a 40% mixture of pure methenal racing fuel to water(if I could ever get that damn system to operate properly.) This setup will take on a chipped 6.0 very well. Stick to stick I think the 6.0 is still a little faster off the line, but a OD pull at 50 MPH head to head, 6.0 doesn't stand a chance. I would love to see what my setup does in an automatic. Wow. I hope I didn't forget anything except whoever said four to six grand was dreaming! Have fun with it, go big or go home!
