A lot of the cost depends on the injector you get. For example, if you were able to run a set of BD's, they can be had for about 2 grand from BWD. That's my plan, hopefully sometime this year. You can put smaller nozzles on the BD's and have then tuned to run safely with what you have. Jody will be handling my tuning to run with the van turbo, until I get enough money to replace it with something better suited for my setup.
oh so forged rods are goo to 500-maybe 600..well then I might aswell go that little extra, I was just planning on goin to whatever the rods limited me at....for now. this is still all a ways away, but I mean a guy needs some sort of game plan. what kind of fuel system would you guys go with?
Forged rods are good to about 500 RWHP, and a lot of pushing that limit is going to be the tuning. But, with Jody running the show, you'll be in good hands.
For a fuel system, I would go with ITP. Quality parts, well designed, and Dennis's customer service is great. Plus, you can get a fuel/water seperator/filter with his kit who's elements aren't very costly.
Kevin Barr pulls a heavy-azz sled with his 6 speed, and he has about 500hp and well over 1000 lbs torque to an unmodified internal tranny with a double disk clutch. And on the other hand Kwikkordead roasted a tranny in high gear with much less torque.
I'm hoping it was just a fluke.
I'm still puzzling over how it failed with such a mild tune and Kevin can snap his axles in half with no problems with his transmission.
