Ford used Jute backing on the carpets...auto upholstery shops sell it.
hey guys thanks for all ur help, but i think there is a missunderstanding.Im not looking for the jute insulation, im looking for the tar paper underlays. These go under the jute and carpet.Take alook under ur carpet(if its original and ur willing to unscrew the scuff plates). Now i know about dyna mat and rhino liner, roofing tar and all that other fun stuff, but im interested in the molded tar paper. For that matter anything i dont have to cut or paint.
-thanks -Pete

National Parts Depot sells it pre cut for your year truck, I just installed it in mine. It's heavier than tarpaper and fits in the cab with no trimming. I don't have the part number but it's in their catalog.
I got some from JC whitney that was an asphalt based adhesive backed stuff 1/16" thick that is sold in either 10"-12" squares or a 27"x54" sheet. It gets really flexible when heated. I used it inside my doors.I think it was about 30$ for the sheet.

For any 1 else thats interested
i found the sound deadeners.BOTP has them NPD has them and 1A Auto has them.
They are made of Ethyl Vinyl Acetate
"1/8' Ethyl Vinyl Acetate (EVA) die cut for easy installation to your truck cab floor. This asphalt based material is used to dampen the road noise and cab harmonics giving you a quieter ride while helping to insulate against heat and cold."--Blue Oval Truck Parts
