P-51 did you have to replace the valve covers because of the 1.7 rockers hitting the baffles though? It really does suck that I might have to replace the covers because of that issue.. ;(
I run the stock '87 ho cam and 1.7 pedestal rockers with a carb setup..Great combo. Good off idle power. I tried the E-cam with them and it wouldn't idle below 1000 rpm. The problem was my auto tranny. When you put it in gear and hold the brake it would stall if I went lower on the idle. It ran like a wild horse from 2500-5500 rpms. I just couldn't get there easily with my gears and tires. I needed new valve covers anyway so I went with the taller ones.
I have heard you might be able to fit them under the normal valve covers if you do some grinding to the baffles. Personally I'd go to a taller valve cover. Are you running a car upper intake? If you do you can get an intake spacer to gain the height you need.
If you do some searching on one of the mustang forums I'm sure they could tell you the easiest way.
Ken I am currently running the 302EFI truck upper intake so I don't know what I am going to do as of right now, but I do know something this install is not going to happen for awhile now since all the bad weather has hit us... 4 inches of solid ice on the ground it's crazy. Canadian weather in KS is crazy, it's like the day after tommorow right from the movie. If I run taller valve covers I will need a intake spacer correct? Another note what exact valve covers can I run with on my 302EFI truck being that I have the screw in type oil cap and the PCV valve on the passenger side?

Thanks
No, I didn't, but they were the finned 85 HO covers, not the EFI cover.
