I have the new flash (injectors cycle 30sec after truck turns off). Whe I goto turn the key into the on position with the engine off, I hear a buzzing sound. I'm guessing these are the glow plugs. The buzzing sound for a half a sec sounds like it is struggling to start then its a smooth sound afterwards. After starting the truck, I can still hear it. When accelerating, the buzzing changes to a higher pitched noise. Is this normal??
I would not jump the gun and replace the fuel pump. Even with a new pump you will hear a humming sound when you turn the key on. The sound is louder with the new flash or do you think you might be a little more tuned in since the reflash?
It was the same before the flash. And im a little worried about the starting sound too. SOunds like there might be air in the line but there is no sign of a leak.
The sound probably changes as the system builds pressure. It starts out as a little higher pitch and then sounds like it slows or drops down. Just my guess. Maybe one of the techs will jump in help out.
dont you have alot of miles on your truck? fuel pumps can be noisy, but when they are noisy, they can last forever or go out on you when ever. check your fuel pressure. also does it get worse when the trucks hot? compare the noise to another truck if you can and that should tell you normal or not.
