They haven't rubbed yet. I bounced though snow drifts today, and at full lock I have plenty of clearance. the bonus is with the stock suspension I can still get into the garage. When I level the truck it will be relegated to the barn...
I talked to my tire guy he said that the 305's would not be safe on a 8" rim.the bigest tire he would sell me was a 285-65 r18 BFG allterain.
That's because BFG specs the 305 for a 8.5"-11" rim. He's just doing his job and covering his tail. The 305's will probably be fine and another dealer will more than likely mount them for you.
To answer your question. There is over 1" difference in back spacing between the 2 rims you have in question. Way too much for wheel spacers hubcentric or not, thats my opinion. But then again I would not run a wheel spacer to begin with.
The '05 up wheels sit farther inboard, rub the leaf springs and you will never get a larger tire on it. I tried it with a set of '06 H-D wheels. I just ended up keeping my stock wheels and just getting larger tires.
Best bet is custom rims or rims from a '04 or earlier with the correct backspacing.
