-8 degrees outside, bumpy ride or broken Spring-2003 EB?

-8 degrees outside, bumpy ride or broken Spring-2003 EB?
It is the coldest day we have had this winter, -8 degrees. I traded by 1997 Explorer for a 2003 EB last spring, 41006 miles on it today, I had a bumpy ride in to work today, and the driver’s side front seems to be hanging 2-3 inches lower. It wasn't a bouncy ride like a broken shock, but more like the spring is broken, anyone have any ideas? it goes thud, thud at each bump like I was riding directly on the rim.

Doesn't sound good. I have a '94 and it's -31 C and -42 C with the windchill this morning here in Winnipeg and the ride, while a little bouncy, isn't anything like what you are describing. Especially with you saying the one side is 2-3 inches lower. Time to get your suspension checked.

Turns out, the strut assembly failed, The dealership replaced it under my Ford <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com[img][/img]<st1:stockticker>ESP</st1:stockticker> Warranty. I had to pay my deductible, the dealer suggested I replace the other side at my expense, but I elected not to just in case it also fails before my extended warranty is done. Well I have recouped about 350.00 of the price of my ESP plan.
