I am just starting to make changes to a '50 F1, I am modernizing it. I would like to take the in cab gas tank out and put a gas tank between the frame rails. Question: Has anyone done this? What late model tank would fit back of the rear end? Are there any kits out there or should I look at putting a fuel cell in it?
This is my first time on the board and I would appreciate any help you can provide.
Alvin I am going to use a 15 galon tank from a late 70-80,s postal jeep.IT will fit between rear frame and still leave room for tail pipes inside the frame. There is more than one tank so I picked the one with brackets on the top.You will have to put 2 braces across the frame and strap it underneth. The top braces stop the tank from coming up past the frame.Hope this will help you.
