tranny slip?

I was reading one of those mpg post and someone suggested that a slipping tranny could be the cause, I do notice a slight slip in mine from a dead stop, more noticed when towing and when warm. I wanna do the bts VB soon is this a good idea with this issue or not, no budget right now for a complete overhaul, any suggestions?

A VB is probably not a good idea at this time if your trans is slipping. Probably a better idea to start saving for a new trans......

Check fluid level first. Next drain the fluid and see what is in the pan

Lube the slip yoke on the driveshaft. That's the source of your thunk.

If the trans is really slipping, you'll know VERY quick. A trans that is slipping usually won't last 10 miles.
