05 binding and poping

05 binding and poping

I have an 05 4x4 SD thats binding and poping in the front end on hard turns. I initially thought it was the rear limited slip, but its in the front .....somewhere.
anybody got any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Jitt. Welcome to FTE!

It sounds like your front hubs are locked.

Unlock them and see if the noises and binding go away.

That was the second thing I checked. I've got ESOF and both hubs are in auto position. Thanks though.

OK, if your hubs are not locked then your hubs may be toast.

Sorta think its the u-joints on the axle shafts. Its hard to tell exactly where its coming from over the diesel rattle with your head under the front end.

Your front U-joints shouldn't move if your hubs are not engaged and your transfer case is in 2H.

It might very well be the hubs. But I would think it would bind and pop all the time instead of just during sharp turns.???? I guess I'll take it to the stealership in the am.
