I'm sure it can and has been done, but the body lines in the rear sail panels make this a 9 on the complexity scale.

yea im sure if was hard that and i would imagine that the windshield being curved made it more difficult than something with flat glass.

Curved glass windshields are chopped all the time. I'd expect new outside rear pillar skins would need to be formed to keep the body lines creases straight top to bottom.

that looks cool i might just have to keep this in mind if i ever build a hot rod fridge. im just wondering how do you chop the glass do you have to have a new windshield made or a stock one cut down by a glass shop or what.

The windshield, being safety glass can be cut down by a glassman that knows what he is doing (the latter part of that sentence being the critical part). Most would require a new windshield to cut tho, trying to cut used, scratched and chipped glass dramatically lessens the chance of success.

I'm always a little in the dark. Why do you call them "fridge trucks"?

I've heard of the 57-60s called "refrigerators", "frigidaires" and "slab-sides". I'm sure it comes from the fact that they were the first rectangular body style and resembled a large home appliance.

One of the classic truck magazines had a chopped 57 a few months ago.

Actually, I think the term "shoebox" fits better. Even makes more sense than calling a '49 Ford sedan a "shoebox". IMHO.

i though shoebox usally refered to mid fifties chevy belairs. nicknames for different style i guess just depends on you and your part of the contry. a 56 is a fatfender and my 59 is a fridge and i love it.
