narrowing it down
97 f150 4x4 with 4.6l v-8.Tried the Lucas treatment and its still making the same noise.Took the trusty old stethascope and started probing around.Found noise coming from the exhaust manifolds.Is there any way to check and see if the manifold studs are broke?

if you look at the manifold you should be able to see if the studs are broken off. if the studs are broken off the bolt and the stud should be gone, i think there should be eight studs on the manifold if i remember right, not for sure though. good luck.
