I don't have power windows or locks in my truck, but lately (about the last month or so) my driver door lock hasn't been wanting to unlock. The key won't turn unless I play with it a little bit and then it'll finally unlock. I know the cold could be getting to it, but here in Indy (and much of the midwest) it's been a warm winter. We've had temps in the mid-40s to low-50s.
Is there something I could spray on it to get it to work a little better (such as WD 40)? Also if I were to have to buy new locks and get them installed, would that require getting all new keys or can those locks be "programmed" to my current keys?
I just returned from the Ford dealer. I had to order a new Ignition lock and cylinder for my '90 Bronco. They told me they could rework the new cylinder to match my door key. Of course they want $150 bucks, I think I'll find a locksmith to do it or just carry 2 keys. Good luck.
