fuel filter / water sep.

I have a 96' F 250 7.3 PSD. I was cleaning out my filter housing and I noticed a wire in the base that looked like it was glued down where the filter sits and I noticed it was loose and looked like it was broken and I could move it all around. What is it and what is it for???? what will it affect being broken???

edge chip
shimmed FPR
3" down pipe
free flow air intake
8" lift

Most poeple have unplugged their fuel heater because it shorted and blew the fuse. This fuse also powers the PCM. Most poeple just leave it unplugged.

I live in MI and have mine unplugged for 4-5 years. I haven't noticed and problems even when the temps go below zero. If you drive in the arctic then it may be a problem
