Question Turn off Check Engine Light

Just a quick question: How do I turn the check engine light off on an 02 Ranger after I make the necessary repairs?

Some codes need to be erased with and OBDII reader. You might also be able to reset by disconnecting your battery for about a minute.

disconnect negative side of battery, for a minute...walmart has an odb2 reader for about 90 bucks, i got one last year, helps out, my check engine light came on, i read the code, saw that i needed a lower bank oxygen sensor, i ordered the part put it in myself got rid of the light and not spending money on someone diagnosing it, plus you can erase codes as well.

If you have cured the problem, the light will go off by itself in approx 3 start/stop cycles. jd
