Tire load range question

I have an e-350 1 ton van. I do some occasional towing, and seldom carry more than 1200 pounds in it. When replacing the tires do I need to get E rated tires or will D's work?

D's will work.

D's will work but note that the psi limit with D's are like 65psi, unlike the E's which can be inflated to like 80 or so psi. (so don't get D's and unknowlingly inflate them to 80psi)
