07 New Years Prediction

By the middle to end of 2007 the 6.0 will be revered as the best engine ever offered by Ford in the superduty, shamefully and quickly outliving its usefullness. My prediction is that the 06/07 will be the hottest commodity going in the used truck market. Since we already know what it takes to make the numbers with them. (not much compared to previous offerings) The 7.3 will be nothing but a distant memory.

You are very confused.

When all is said and done, the 6.0 and the 7.3 will both be moot points- when the 6.4 has established a background, the 6.0 will look archaic and the 7.3 will be a forgotten dinosaur.

Umm then why did he say the 6.0 would be revered as the best engine ever in a superduty? He never said anything at all about a 6.4, although i hope the 6.4 turns out a good engine to bring ford back on top. Sounds like he is a lucky (problem free) 6.0 user bragging about his truck.

I guess lucky 4 times over, both 6.0's have been great, both also had/have a transmission in them that don't require 100K overhaul. The minimal emissions equipment (seems like alot now, wait til the 6.4) will make it sought after, due to much of it being disabled by the many flashes. O-ring the heads, that 7.3 won't even be close enough to get a wiff of the exhaust. In the end more proof why I don't visit the 7.3 forum. Its pointless even conversing with most of them. Nothing ever was or ever will be as good as the 7.3

LOL can you read the numbers in my sig? How many full weight 6.0's are turning those numbers? not many. I know there's probably a few full weight 6.0's out there that could out run me, which is great... now matter what there is always someone faster than you.

Ps- The 12.52 was with fuel pressure dropping to less than 20 psi (supposed to be 65 psi). Now that i have my fuel pressure problem fixed, added a slightly larger turbo and added a rear locker i think that more than .5 sec will be knocked off my last ET's not to mention picking up some MPH through the traps. Any time you want to make the trek up to oklahoma with the truck listed in your sig i'd be willing to hand you a loss .

Wow half a second is alot to gain from a locker and fuel pressure, but hey its your story, tell it like you want. Don't worry about me coming to run you, I didn't buy my truck to race it, I bought it to work with and tow my toyhauler. I will tell you this, it won't take near as many years to get a 6.0 dialed in like the 7.3.

On another note, I guess I got lucky a 5th and 6th time, I didn't get the 6.0 built by Detroit Diesel, cause my 03 dodn't leak a drop, and neither does my 05.

lol shaving time off the 60' (locker) has huge effects on the overall ET. The bracket racers ive talked to say that for every .1 sec you drop your 60' time is .15-.20 sec off overall ET. My 60' on the 12.52 run was a 1.90, if i get that down to a 1.7 that could be .3-.4 sec off the ET right there. Plus with good fuel pressure the truck wont lay down on the top end and the bigger turbo will obivously help burn more fuel which we all know makes more hp. BTW this is my work/ tow truck too, i just like getting from A to B a little quicker LOL.

Funny part is what you have to plow into a 7.3 money wise just to make a 13 second run.

So now I stirred it back up....

Then you have the rest of us that don't have money to buy an 06 6.0 (even though I would like to very much). The 7.3L will be a close relative of mine until she finally gives it up. It may not get there quickly, but the new trucks aren't rated to pull that much more.

They don't like to talk about how much it cost, just how much better the turbo that falls of is, and how much better the auto trans that might make it to 100k is, or how the CPS is that may need to be changed 3-5 times.

You know at times I think they are actually jelous that our motors come with enough *** from the factory to blow the head gaskets or intercooler. They have mod the crap out of it to get anywhere near that. Thats another story though.
