You had me pondering this thought very seriously. It would be a major liability issue for Firestone.
So.... I just got off the phone with my local Firestone dealer.... and they said they most certainly will replace (FREE) any spare tire that was overlooked during the recalls.

Yep! Had one in my '01 Limited, but couldn't find one inside my '05 EB. I may go and order an '01 piece from the dealer ... assuming that they're still available.

Hey, chief? I think it means it wasn't used to connect a brake controller. Your X may have towed many smaller trailers of unknown weight(s).
Ford gave me gloves in my spare tire cover. Found them when I took the cover off so the recall deal wouldn't forget the spare and get the cover greasy.
