I found something that may be helpful to others and thought I would share.
I have a 2002 F350 SD Lariat Crew Cab Long Bed Dually, not that much of this matters. I had a door rattle in my drivers side door that sounded like marbles hitting the glass. I only heard this at speeds of 45 MPH or faster. I removed the inside door panel and couldn't find anything loose. Still puzzled, I fumbled with the outside door handle. Bingo, it was the problem. There is a pin that runs vertically down through the handle and there was slack in the pin allowing the handle to move up and down slightly. When the wind rushed past, the handle was able to move enough to make a very annoying sound that traveled up through the glass and drove me nuts. There are probably better ways to remedy this but the one I used was to use rubber grommets left over from a new faucett I installed in our house. I cut one side of the grommet and used needle nose pliers and slipped it in around the pin above and below the handle. Long story short, no rattle. Now I can listen to my favorite tunes.
Thanks for the tip! I've also had some noise, but usually its some sort of insulation on the inside of the door that breaks off and knocks around. I have one door that continues to rattle and your finding may be it. I'll check it out once the temps get a bit over 5.
