Anyone ever try the Airfury Cold Air Induction on their PSD? This seems to be a very 'safe' mod since it is really only a small grill to allow more air from in front of the radiator to pass over to the air intake. My only 2 thoughts would be since it is a straight through from the front a potential for more dirt or snow into the intake. I'm sure these could be improved by either screen or a small filter material. Anyway just looking for any experience before I order. Thanks.
Search for Zoodad mod. You don't have to buy anything to do this. I did it to mine. Mine doesn't have an screen or anything, but some guys get some window screen and just glue it on from the backside.
Thanks and I read about the Zoodad mod. Looks to be the same concept. Glad it has worked for you. I think I will go ahead and order the Airfury. Its only $40 bucks and will add a nice cover that can also include a screen or filter. That should eliminate most of the downsides.
I performed my own mod for a cold air intake by making a cut-out in the radiator support directly in front of the air intake snorkel. I also installed a Summit Racing conical air filter that is specifically for the 6.0, similar to the K&N brand. I have a lund grill insert on my truck which keeps most of the bugs out of the radiator and air filter set up. I have driven in torrential rain, white-out blizzards and all other types of weather and have had zero problems with water or debris infiltration. Be careful with using window screen, they corrode easily and they can also limit air flow by up to 50%, which defeats the purpose of the mod.
