Diesel Power Magazine (January issue) did a review with dyno results and they seem to support the reported gains (9-10 hp & lb-ft). It's an easy mod to do. I'll be ordering mine in the next couple weeks. This item has been discussed before and there are some on these boards that have already done the install. If you do a search on accufab, I'm sure you'll find at least a couple threads on this subject.
i have it, it was a very easy install only took like 10 minutes, as far as a real power gain, its not very noticable, but it does seem to be getting better mileage, iv only had it on for about 300 miles so i havent really got to do a full mileage check,
I have an '04 and the Accufab elbow is for the new trucks because of the throttle plate that is in the 03s and 04s. If you remove the throttle plate will the elbow work on the older trucks. I haven't really looked at the engine yet, but was wondering if anyone has tried this. (and yes, I know next month they have a new elbow coming out for the 03-04, but I'm anxious )
Simple To Install Polished Looks Cool And I Like The Port For A Boost Gauge Too New To Know About Mileage, Heck I Can't Keep My Foot Out Of It Most Of The Time, Seems To Lower The Egt Though That Is Mainly Why I Bought It , Might Do An Inner Cooler Next But I Must Say For Under 200.00 It Is Awesome
I know it comes pre tapped but I heartd of some people complaining about it being tapped to low and some say that it's perfect. Do they do it in the same place or is there someone doing it manually? I sent out for mines on Friday and can still change it if it has a problem. I have the autometer phantom gauges and waiting for the elbow to do the install. Thanks for any info in advance.
Some of them had the tap too low but the newer ones have the tap up higher to solve the problem. I have been waiting over a month for mine to come in. There was a big surge in sales after the article came out in Diesel Power magazine.
