Bluetooth enabled stereo?

Can anybody explain the whole bluetooth enabled stereo thing? What do I need to have, just a new head unit....or a seperate combo like with a Parrot??

It really confuses me, but sounds really cool!

What it means, is the head-unit, is bluetooth capable. All you need is a bluetooth phone, pair it up to the Headunit, then whenever you get a call, it will play through the truck speakers. A parrot BLuetooth system is very nice also.

I have a Pioneer DEH-9800BT which is a Bluetooth enabled Stereo. The Stereo itself is awesome and the added feature of BT if just a perk. The sound is very clear (on my End) and depending on how loud you have the volume...is pretty good on the other end--too loud causes an "echo" which the other end user can hear.

I know the Sony MEX-BT5000 is also a BT stero but this wasnt around yet when I bought mine.

I have a parrot system installed in my 05 Lariat SCREW...it works awesome. The sound quality is good on my end, and everybody I talk to doesn't even realize im on a speaker phone system.

I also bought the specific wiring harness for the f150, so all I did was run an inline wiring harness, a +12v and a ground and I was set. The system auto mutes when I get a phone call and rings thru the speakers...once I'm done and hang up, it resumes my music instantly.

Great system, especially when you live in California, which now has anti cell phone while driving legislation

Please take a look at Brandmotion. We offer a BlueConnect system that is custom fit to your vehicles interior. This means you will have a factory installed appearance, without all the fuss! The system is rated the clearest on the market by CNet. All you will need is a Bluetooth enabled phone. Please 877-276-6456 for more information.

Ya, too bad the brandmotion system is $500 dollars (before shipping) and doesn't offer nearly as much as Parrot does, for cheaper.

The Parrot CK3100 LCD that I have installed gives me a small, non-obtrusive LCD which displays Caller ID info, as well as phone's signal strength, phone's battery level. When in a call it scrolls the caller ID info and how long i've been engaged in the phone call.

It auto-mutes my radio and displays "phone" on the screen, as well as providing really good voice activation and dialing. Phone call audio then comes out of my truck's stereo speakers.

It also imports my entire phonebook, and syncs with it for recent and received calls.

The factory specific harness for our truck just plugs inline with the harnesses already in place (even if you have a PIE aux adapter, which I do), and makes install super easy (about 20mins tops to do it really professional).

The Parrot CK3100 is only $174.00
The F-150 '04-'06 harness is $54.00

Sure beats the $500 brandmotion wants for a product that doesn't do half of what other products on the market do.
