Plug it in a couple hours before and you should be good to go.

Another thing to try in after keying on for 30 sec to 1 minute, Key off and do it again for 30 seconds before cranking. Also make sure the GP's and relay are working good.

I agree, Plug the engine in and cycle the GPR several times before starting. It's cold here in the minus also. I then let it warm-up 5-10 minutes. Then I'm off down the road.
No problems.....Good Luck

I started my truck yesterday morning at -6 with no romp at idle. Cycled glow plugs once and turned the key. I did, however, have it plugged in overnight. I still have 15-40 in it too.

If you're going to drive it later, I'd say plug it in now. The other morning I cranked up when it was -1 outside. I didn't drive the truck for several days before, and I didn't plug it in either. Got a few romps and some nice white smoke, but the truck did crank right up on the first try. Yep, romps even when running 5w40 synthetic. First time this has happened since I made the switch. Oh well, I guess the old gal was just a little grumpy.

It does start much easier when it's plugged in at those temps.

Find the engine heater plug by the front of the truck, drivers side lower portion of the radiator. Plug the truck into an outlet and she will start very easily after a few hours.
