Return line mod

I found a site, I don't remember where, but he said that if you uncapped the rail coming from the back injectors under the valve covers, then hook that into the return lines, it will even out the fuel flow and give you a lot more power. How plausible is this to do? He said it is also great if you are doing a WVO conversion b/c it allow you to flush the system quicker.

NOOOO, do not do this without a regulator or an orifice or your truck will likely not even run. You will essentially relieve the stock fuel pressure to about nothing operable at the injectors.

Edit: OK, got that out of my system, I can expand if you would like.

Look this diagram over and consider, the stock system is fed at the RR and the LF of the heads. So most feed from the rear and regulate from the front. There are a few with a different setup. With the appropriate WVO valving where my valve is, it could be a good flush device but that requires an electronic one and two seperate lines, one to diesel tank and other to WVO tank. Then theres heaters filters etc.

Uncapping those fuel rails does require that you regulate the flow back to the tank.

Look at ITP's regulated return or you could make your own.

There are other options as well. The design above is interesting and the poster is correct - there are others with different designs. Just takes some searching.

I think he's talking about the HPX mod. High pressure crossover hose.

Most agree it's a waste of money, and you will NOT get any more power from it. It could smooth the engine out at idle though.

If he's talking about the HPX mod he has more troubles than I thought.

I've never seen anyone discuss more power as a result of the HPX and if he starts mixing oil rails with fuel rails . . .

It'll make for a good story at least.
