First post on the site. I recently purchased an 01 F250 CC V10. It is a work truck used to haul and it spends a lot of itme off road. I would like to lift it and put some bigger tires to handle the off road work. How big can I go on the tires with a 3" lift? How big with a 6" lift? I know you get what you pay for, but I don't want to break the bank of the lift kit, wheels, and tires. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Very generically,
2-3" lift is a levelling kit. Up to 305's
4" lift 35's
6" 37's
But you have to pay attention to what each lift kit is actually giving you for components.
Start with a tape and measure the distance you have from hub to fenderwell now and note what you have there for suspension (i.e. 2" block). Go from there.
While level looks good, if in doubt, I think I'd err on the side of maintaining a little nose down rake when putting components together.
I think I keep hearing Rancho is decent for a budget. Lots of folks, me included, really really happy with the Donahoes.
