Hello, I usually hang out on the F150 forum cause I have never had a problem with our Ranger, until now.
I have a 94 Ranger 4.0 automatic. 52k miles and am orig owner. I pull into the driveway yesterday and see coolant pouring out under the truck. Only drove 1 mile, didn't overheat. Today I investigate and it looks like its coming from under the front of the intake manifold and pouring behind the a/c and steering pump to the ground. Its not the thermo housing and it pours out gravity flow about as fast as I can put it in.
Any thoughts on this would sure be appreciated.
Greg
Heater hose connects just a couple of inches to the right (passengers side) of the thermostat housing. Also check the water pump itself, especially at the "weep" hole. It seems that on my old 2.9L there was a small coolant hose running to the throttle body, but I sold it awhile ago, and I'm not sure if there's one on my 94 4.0L or not. Take a good look around that area to see what you've got.
I have checked as closely as possible, to the point of removing the a/c - p/s bracket and pulling it aside. No hoses are leaking, not the wp, or thermostat housing. Its pouring out like a freeze plug popped on top of the driver side cyl head or the front of the intake manifold.
