can someone tell me which is bank 2 so i can get on with fixing this problem. the vehicle still runs great haven't had any problem except this darn light.
Bank 2 is the driver side and this code is for the O2 sensor behind the Cat, it is for monitoring purposes only annd does not affect the driveability.
have you checked the sensor for proper operation? There are many reasons why this code shows up, mainly due to out of range operation of something upstream
Typically when this code is set it's because the catalytic converter has failed. Make sure it gets replaced with a quality, OBDII compatible replacement, as many "universal" designs aren't efficient enough and can cause this code to set. (Hint, most "exhaust" specialty shops like Car-X, Meineke, Midas, etc. will cut/weld in universal converters because they are easy to sell due to the low price... however this practice doesn't always work).
I've also seen this code set due to exhaust leaks, or use of a silicone sealant on the exhaust system. Typically if you have a bad O2 sensor, or catalyst monitor it will set another code for that, but stranger things have happened.
