Question....
I was reading up in my chilton manual on how to advance the timing on my 7.3 and they say to get a dynamic timing meter(rotunda part something), so i went down to the local Car Quest and they had no idea what the hell i was talking about, they grabbed me a timing light for a gasser, i laughed and walked out, where can i get the device to advance my timing and is this device called a dynamic timing meter or is it's name something completly different? First they are like hens teeth, occasionally they show up on Ebay. If you know anyone at the local Ford dealers near you see if they have one for sale, not too many still do IDI timing.
You can still get a MAC tool $$$$ that hooks up to a regular timing light and uses the same pulse from the injection line.
Any Stanadyne repair center should be able to do it, check with your local school bus garage mechanics they may know where one is available.
