i'm slowly working on mine .. taking the time to assemble the right components .. i'm going to put on a set of Anvil's, along with 2 Grover Firetruck horns .. 2 separate buttons for that ..
You won't need dual Grover's. All the firetrucks in our department only have one and the one I installed on my truck is the exact same horn (Grover Stuttertone) I have 140 psi in the air tank and that thing makes a huge, huge noise. Dual's would be super crazy! Unless you point one out towards the back of your truck, then you can blast people in front and behind you. I actually thought about that idea. For anyone that honks at me from behind, to blast them with a rear facing airhorn!!
Ha ha...... I was in traffic the other day with my daughter in the truck with me and some idiot behind me was honking and I told her that I should install another air horn facing rearwards so I can give him a good blast.... then I said I should just go ahead and install side facing one's too. She just gave me a real funny look and rolled her eyes.
Hey thanks guys for all the info. Honestly I've already thought about the law aspect for once. I love right outside D.C and I doubt that D.C Metro police would be very kind to a redneck in an already loud straight piped diesel blowing a train horn. I'd still want to keep my stock horn so that I dont always have to let loose on the train horn. I seriously want to get one though so it looks like I'm going to have to do some shopping around. I really dont want to have to mount it to the top of my truck, so we'll see.
As far as the jerks behind you, I thought of installing a 12v pump that can move OIL, and hook it up to a container holding a qt of used motor oil, and then run it to a teeny 1/8" brass tube tie-tied under the bumper and sticking out just a hair. When someone is riding your @$$, hit a switch and coat thier hood and windshield with some nice black 15w-40. Probably not the smartest thing to do when the jerk on your bumper is going 75, but hey, you gotta protect you own right? HAHAHA
A cheap alternative to train horns is the Stebel Nautilus horn. At 139db YOU WILL BE HEARD! Stebel Nautilus horn in eBay! I bought it directly from this store for less than what they offer it for on eBay. I just can't find the darn real URL for the site.
I have just one on my Yamaha Royal Star Venture. Compact, powerful and LOUD describe it best. It'll peel pain off the car in front of you!! I'll be adding one to my car and TWO to my Excursion. They are so compact that you can feasibly add one to the back and two to the front! Or as many as you want; wherever you want!
For $35, it comes with everything you need to include the relay. However, you will need to fashion your own bracket.
I'll be more than happy to make a sound/video clip of mine so that you can hear it. These things are LOOOOOUUUUUUDDDD! That sound clip on the above link doesn't really do it justice. But does give you an idea of the tone.

Thanks again
I totally understand. It's not like I installed the airhorn to lay on it to be a nuisance. I use it very sparingly and only really to give a toot to warn and avoid accidents. The OEM horn was never touched. My system is installed along the frame (air compressor, air tank and airhorn) and is totally concealed under the chassis. I used rubber mounts and threadlocker to prevent loosening of the nuts. Also, as an added bonus, I used 1/8" stainless steel cable as a backup tether on the air compressor just in case. I'll get back under and take some pic's when the weather dries up some. I've modified it since the original install pic's on my gallery.
