damper when connecting your column to the box.
also weld in the mounting bracket and only
use a toyota to ford pitman arm DO NOT USE THE
ORIGIONAL ford arm it smashes the splines.

Steve-
Is the 4x4 Toy box a power or manual unit? Can you clarify the pitman arm business? Should one use the Toyota arm, and will it fit to the stock drag link as does the original? Steve B
You should use a power box not manual,
it must be a toyota 4x4(80-84). The origional
pitman arm fits on the toy box but it does
not have groves at the top of the pittman
by the bolt, thus as you tighten down on the
bolt it smashes the top groves on the toy box.
Mid-fiftys in arizonia sells a toyota pitman
arm that is machined to fit perfit in the
origional ford drag link and has groves all
the way around the pitman arm. It's 100.00
but for safety why chance it. Call me and

When using the Toyota box, be aware that the hose fittings are somewhat special. Mid Fifties does sell a kit for these. The pressure port is metric M16 inverted flare and the return is M17 inverted flare. The return line to box fitting is available from Toyota.
If you're still wanting a Toyota conversion kit for your truck I know someone in St. Louis, Missouri that has one that he might sell at a good price because he doesn't need it any more.
I just put a disc brake kit on the straight axle of my 56. I got the kit from Sacramento Vintage Ford. It went on with no problems and works great. Best of all it's the Ford truck bolt pattern. It's part # 11964 - Spindle kit; #11981-2 Roters; and 11980-2 Calipers. Their telephone number is 1-888-FORD-100.
I like this kit because it uses 68-73 Mustang calipers (easy to get parts for) and a Ford bolt pattern 5.5 inch. This super bell kit comes with all the bearings you need without using a spacer on your spindle. It sure makes the old truck stop a lot better. Don't forget to use a dual master cylinder. I got a manual one out of a Maverick that had the proportioning valve on it. I've had great luck with it and don't feel like I need the power assist.
This is the first I've ever heard of using a toy steering box. Can you guys tell me what is invovled with doing this? What year toyota's work, will it work with the 57-60 F100s?
As far as the Mono springs I had a set on my 60 but took them off I didn't like the ride, it was to harsh for me, my truck is a daily driver, plus I actually use it for a work truck. But it did look good with the mono's on expecially with 15 inch rims.
