I just got a Extang tonneau for my '96 F-150. Found a guy who had one locally...brand new in the box $100. Usually cost around $200. Mine is the snap style. i have bought a few of these and love them. But then again I never take mine off except to clean and wax the bed if it gets dust in it. Some people don't like them because if you live in a cold climate and you undo the cover to use the bed...the tonneau will shrink in the cold and you cannot get it back on....or atleast it is VERY difficult. I have a relative who had a tonneau on his F-250 that has the bows and the sides are velcro. I think it is a very nice tonneau and holds up well. The bows on his roll up with the top. Unfortunately I don't know the name of the manufacturer. If I find out I will let you know. Good luck.
Just put an Extang Sabre on my 1994 F150 I-6, improved highway mileage about 2 miles per gallon. Clocked it on I-95 at 75 & 80 mph for about 300 miles. Don't think it does much around town but improve the truck's looks and keep trash out of the bed.
Does not have snaps and yes in cooler weather it can be a little tough to get that last little bit back into the tracks but since I lve in Florida I am not too concerned.
Check out the Truxedo Lo Profile cover. That is our premium cover, but we also have an economical cover called the Truxport. The Lo Profile is the most popular cover we make. It has Velcro on the sides and the support bows roll up with the soft vinyl cover. It has automatic tensions control, which means that as the temperature changes your cover will automatically stay tight because of the 80lb spring plungers that put constant pressure on the front of the cover. It has a lifetime warranty and is a very durable cover. Don't let the "soft" fool you. Check out the durability video on our web site. http://www.truxedo.com/maingallery/videos.html
I've had most mentioned . I'd stick with snaps. Get one with separate adjustible bows and sliding snaps.. If you live in warm cimate get any one . But check with them about cold . I had one on last truck was Cover**** (cant remember)something, it was great never had snap problem when cold. If you live in Pa and have shorty bed I'll give you a fiberglass snugtop tonnue for the price of a tarp . Good luck
