Post Snapped or Snapless Tonneau Cover.

I hear pros and cons of each. Do any of you have experience with either?

Thanks,

Snapped or Snapless Tonneau Cover.

I have a roll-up kind that is kind of nice. Pace Edwards. It's not perfectly water right, only at the gasket that touches the tailgate because of a tailgate cover that i have on it, it would seal if it was against the metal of the tailgate. It sits on slides and a small canister that rests on the framerails at the front of the pickup box. When rolled up, it just stores in the canister and is pretty nice.

Primary rig is:
95' F-150 EB 300/6 5 spd with 4" Superlift, MSD, Ram Air, Gibson Exhaust, 32" BFG Muds
NEW PICS IN MY GALLERY!! :-)

Then theres:
88' F-250 Superduty 351 + c6
92' Thunderbird 3.8L V-6 FOR SALE!
95' Mercury Cougar 4.6L V-8
80' E-350 300/6 and a
3 spd column shifter baby.

The newest addition to the Ford family is a 99' Mustang GT 4.6L

Snapped or Snapless Tonneau Cover.

I've always used Extang covers. I had two of the rubber lip type and they were good but eventually the stitching cam apart along the lip to cover seam.
I'm using the sliding snap unit now and like it better.

My cover is a year and 1/2 old and still looks like brand new.

Snapped or Snapless Tonneau Cover.

I have a hinged vinyl snap down tonneau from Sportmasters. Their web site is sportmaster.com, check it out.

I am very satisfied with the product, it can be removed completely or the bows removed and the vinyl rolled up to the front of the bed and secured in place for loading.

I got mine for $150.00 off of ebay, but the web site will give you a dealer location close to you.

The cover is easy to install, just need a 1/2" wrench and a screwdriver, takes less than 30 minutes for initial install. I have had absolutely no leaks in the downpours we have had lately, the bed stays dry!!

Good luck.

I have a Retrax cover that I got from rolltopcover.com. Its really nice, it is a hard plastic cover that is rolled up into a canister at the front of the truck. It holds most of the water out, and it looks great.

I bought a downey SST at a bargain of $185 from Great Lakes Truck Accessories for my F-150. It's a snap on cover and was really easy to install. Check it out and good luck.

I have the hinged snapless cover from extang and the thing I really like is it comes off easily with no help. Open it , pop off struts pick up past 45 degrees and its off. Weighs about 30 lbs. Really handy instead of rolling up in winter and fighting to get restretched.

Convenient as in SO NOT CONVENIENT to put on, SO NOT CONVENIENT to take off, SO NOT CONVENIENT to store, SO NOT CONVENIENT to haul anything taller than the bed sides, SO NOT CONVENIENT with any type of in bed hitch and soooo much more NOT CONVENIENT than a cover that rolls up and "disappears" on a moments notice?

EGAD MAN !!! , I'll take a cover with SNAPS before anything made out of rigid fiberglass!!

They may look cool but they are a PIA to live with ... unless of course you use your truck like a car and NEVER EVER haul ANYTHING in the back you couldn't put into the trunk of a car.
