License Plate styles
I just purchased my 2006 F150 in December and since I'm needing to get it plated, I decided to place an order for Denver Broncos license plates. Hopefully these should look better than the normal White/Green plates we receive here in CO. Attached is a link to pictures of our plates here in CO. The "Passenger" option is the normal style people receive, unless stated otherwise.

That truck will look great with some Denver Broncos plates on it.....it'd look even better with some New England Patriots plates on it. 
On a serious note, I'm not a huge fan of all the various "cause" plates there are now. I know they raise a lot of money for the various charities and so forth but the confusion they cause is huge - my state easily has 20 different plates from saving the whales to the schools to fighting cancer to the various sports teams. I have Veterans plates on one of my cars but the rest have standard issue MA plates.
The other thing to think about is the occasional idiot who might have a problem with whatever plate you put on there. I won't put a single sticker on my cars just to avoid the moron who disagrees with what I like.
Go with the Broncos plate - who could dislike them?

I like the Your "Personalized Designer" plate..top right hand corner.
We really don't have any choices here in Alberta
Veterans can have a veteran plate
Vanity plates like mine are available
Regular car/light truck plates
Jurisdiction Commercial plates for Trucks *within 5 miles of city limits* (U-plate)
Out of Jurisdiction plate *go anywhere* (E- plate)

We all have our preferences, so no offense to the Pats. They're a good team that's in the PO's. Broncos did beat the Pats this year, but are sitting at home right now watching the Pats.
I like the fact my donation is going to a charity, but the real reason is to get something different than the White/Green plate that I've always had. I want something a little different that not everbody has.
I hear you on the morons jumping to assumptions about someone because of a sticker or plate on their car/truck. I try not to judge anyone based on these, but I know automatically if they have a Raiders plate/sticker we may not agree on many NFL related issues.

Texas offers severlal plates with Black on white. I have had my personalized plate "PIKUP" for years.

Frankly I think they've gone a little overboard with the whole license plate thing.
Washington state used to be pretty plain Jane like the Colorado plate, but now they've introduced some REALLY oddball plates that make me question how a state patrolman can keep it straight.
Imagine trying to pull someone over and having to guess what state their from because it isn't totally obvious anymore?
