Need help!
That is one of them little questions that take a big answer. What do you want to do to the truck? Do you want a custom rod, a concourse restoration, or to fix it up nice enough to drive with out a lot of work? How much do you want to spend all together? How much can you spend at one time? What condition is the truck? Do you want to drive it while you work on it or park it till it is complete? And the last big question how much of the work can you do yourself and how much will you hire out? If you haven't done it already go get a Custom Classic Truck and a Classic Truck magazines, they will give you some ideas and will have ads for most of the good parts manufactures.
As far as where to start, I would start with the running gear; brakes, suspension, motor, tranny and such. Or in other words start from the inside and work your way out. Body and paint will be the last thing you do. Hope this helps.

start by finding a repair manual for it, whether you are doing the work or hiring it out. That'll eliminate any guessing by you or your mechanic. You can probably find one on ebay, or just use your search engine to find the folks who retail parts for old fords. The very first thing to do is brakes. Anyone can make an old ford run. It's getting it to stop that can give rise to problems! Don't scrimp here, your life depends on stopping. Every classic vehicle I've ever purchased began with a total re-do on the brakes. New master, new slaves, new lines, new hoses, new shoes. Figure $500 in parts to do this. But I'll betcha that you'd agree that your face (and windshield) is worth the expense.
