Awesome video. I could almost smell the exhaust through the monitor. I love the sound of a turbo.

My bro-in-law has a 67 international with a 304. I wonder if he would notice if I slapped a turbo on it?

seeing that video is getting some gears turning in my head, I'd love to turbo my 351w if I wasn't running 10.5 to 1, maybe the next motor I build I'll run dished pistons so I can do this

I have been watching this thread because I have toyed with turboing my 300 for a while now. My theory is this: if you can run stock trucks with turbos offroad, why can't you make one? Most of them are diesels, but I was thinking that I could run low boost (6-7) and enjoy the benefits of increased power without a reduction in reliability.

For an actual vehicle, I would run something like the holley commander, blow through, since it is laptop tuneable. Maybe I will post my actual results in 20 years when I actually get it done

Perfect. In 20 years I will just be retiring and have the disposable $ to follow your lead

thats awsome. Ive got an idea on how you guys could put a load on it, real redneck but it would work. Stick a clutch/pp on the engine, dont worry about the linkage....find a complet rear diff w/brakes. Pull the axle out of one side and cut the housing say about 1 foot in towards the center section. Get a piece of thick sheetmetal cut to fit the back of the bellhousing, cut an opening in it to slide the cut end of the diff housing in, weld and gusset, bolt it all on (makes it reusable on another project for the teacher) Make a floor support at the end for stability. Now the only trick part, get the axle you pulled cut to length, turned to the right diameter and cut the splines so it will fit into the clutch and drive the rear drum. Hook a handbrake to the e-brake cable and mount it somewhere solid....fire up the engine, pull the ebrake click by click untill satisfied with the amount of load. Then open the doors to air out the stinky brake smell! lol just an idea

it would take some work, but it would work...might not be very efficient either, but it would put a good load on so the boost can really build. Sounds better to me than disconnecting 2 cylinders, which would be counter-productive to tuning the set up.

well, we were haveing some exhaust leak issues so I pulled all the exhaust routing off and at the first 90* turn, the inside of the corner is compeletly melted/melting away. Must be getting hotter than we thought.
Good reason to get in good with the local exhaust shops I guess, get them to give us a hand and bend up some of out tubing for us.

Wow, I wonder if an EGT sensor like the diesel guys use might be something to add. . .to get an idea of just how hot that things running. I wonder how your exhuast valves look? Have you pulled the heads yet, or are you gonna run it till it just blows up then check it out?
