Having issues again.. This time I was 154 miles at 3cm above Half.. Now I'm at 214 miles on the halfway mark.. I think this gauge is messed up.. Its only got 27k miles on it..
Is it cold where you are? Mine does that too, but only when its cold, and I park on an incline. Do a search on this topic, I know Iv'e read somewhere that there is an additive that someone used that fixed the problem. I seem to remember the sensor in the tank can get corroded up and cause sticking.
Hey Corp, did you ever get your fuel gauge issue resolved? I noticed something strange on my '03 yesterday evening. I was running low on fuel and the low-fuel light came on. So I pumped full fuel, and then when I started the truck, the gauge didn't move! And the low-fuel light stayed on.
But the computer showed "full fuel" in terms of "300+ miles to empty" type message.
After driving for about 5-10 minutes back to the house, it began to creep back up, about to the quarter tank mark. This morning it showed half full, and after driving about 20 minutes to work, it finally showed full.
It's about 40 degrees here in Houston. Not sure if the cold affects it?

Mine did this once while in Canada last winter. Never has done it again though. It took like 20 or 30 minutes of driving around and finally went back to full. I just chaulked it up to it being to darn cold up there.
Check Engine Light on with P0460 Fuel Level Sensor Code:
This may be caused by a miscommunication of fuel level ststus between the instrument cluster and engine computer. This code is set when the engine computer does not see the fuel level dropping it expects. It may be caused by customer-installed items, such as a remote start system that does not power the dash when activated, an over-sized fuel tank or in-bed fuel tank. If these conditions do not exsist, the engine computer should be reprogrammed using WDS/IDS version 43.4 or higher. This condition can also be caused by fueling with the engine running, parking on an angle, or driving up a long grade. In some cases the fuel level sender may be faulty, or have a sulfur build up on the sender and have code P463(use Chevron Techron Plus Concentrate to correct). TSB 06-13-11
