C-6 Output Gearing
I have a 2.75 9" rear, and my RPMs seem to run pretty high, about 2600 at 70 MPH.
I would like to lower the freeway RPMs. I rather suspect the output gearing of the C-6 may be lower for other 460 equipped C-6s, lower than a 1:1 ratio. Is there any way to check this?
Is this a strong possibility, or are they the same for all or most C-6s? Can I change the output gearing without "rebuilding" the transmission? I have disassembled a C-6 before, but I never put it back together, so I would like to be able to change the gears easily enough, if at all possible.
Any advice and ideas are appreciated.

Car and most trucks were 2.47 and 1.47 for first and second.
There might have been lower 1st and 2nds in some trans, not sure.
If you want an OD, you can:
http://www.gearvendors.com/
for around $2700.
Or you can:
http://www.transmissioncenter.net/AOD.htm
Scroll down just over half way to find an adaptor for an AOD trans to your 460. Considering you'd have to beef the AOD + the adaptor, you are probably at the same $$ as the GV.
