8' OAK BED REPLACEMENT 1951 F-2
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE IS A RUBBER STRIP OR SOMETHING THAT GOES BETWEEN THE OAK BOARDS AND THE SIDES OF THE BED ON A 1951 F-2 WITH 8' BED. THE WOOD HAS TO BE CUT TO FORM AROUND THE INTERNAL FENDER WELL, I WOULD THINK SOMETHING WENT THERE TO MAKE A CLEAN FINSHED LOOK.

I just took apart a 51 F-2 bed and the boards on each side were cut to the shape of the body. They were a perfect cut with nothing to fill in any gaps. The edge was cut on a slight taper to fit tight to the body. All it had was the 6 metal strips for the seams.
