Suspension swap

Hey Guys,
Gotta question on the 2004 F-250 4x4 suspension, and the 2006 F-250 4x4 suspension.
Will the spring hangers off the 04 fit the 06? I know the coils, coil buckets etc will have to be removed. Different axle will have to used to get the spring perches, knuckles etc that I want. I assume the frames are the same, and it just a matter of taking off of one and bolting on the other. If anyone has done this or knows anything on the subject would really like to hear. The whole reaon for the question is that I can get some large leaf springs and hangers for a very reasonable price, and I know the ride quality is going to go down, but for what I'm wanting to do, thats not a big issue. Thanks for any info...

I am in the process of doing the exact opposite. I am taking a leaf sprung 02' SD, and installing a coil spring(s) upfront. Are you trying to change all of that stuff cuz you can get springs cheap? It is quite a bit of work, and you will only end up with a new truck that is as good as the suspension technology you are installing, (kinda old stuff). If you are looking for big, why not lift what you have, or sell what you got, and buy a pre- 05' SD with leaf springs? The difference in cash between the older truck, and the one you have would probably pay for the lift, and mods you wanna do, and you will save all of that time. Not to mention re-sale value. Can't imagine what an 06' SD would be worth once that mod was done. But a 99 - 04 with a sweet lift, that was done right, will always bring some decent cash.
Just my two cents, I hope you don't take it the wrong way.
If you do decide to do it anyway, we might be able to swap some parts. I could use that front axle, and I have cash.......

Hey 75F350, I was curious for the biggest part. Rig now I have an 8" lift with 38" grapplers. Banks tunner, tv, exhaust and all the truck is sweet, just want bigger, without dropping 30-35k in suspension. I have looked at several other ways to lift it, one being 18" bags, 4 linked, and on 2 1/2 rockwells. Another is King coilovers, rocks and all. and the last is the leaf springs.. I found a place with 24/26 inch springs and 6/4 inch hangers for 30" lift. I am wanting to clear the new 54" boggers.. Anyway, I appreciate your input, not taking wrong at all.. Right now I'm just exploring options and or possiblities, and figured it was worth asking to see if you could interchange.. Didn't really have plans to resale, but figured even with the high end axles, coils etc, I would still take a big loss, in comparison to what it will cost to get it as big as I want it going the other ways.

Thats cool, I can dig it. Still think you can accomplish that without leaf springs. If you consider how much arch a spring would have to have to lift a truck 24"s, you would realize that the front springs measure in at just over 53" from end to end. Making a "U" large enough to go down to the axle that distance, and then come back up again would be for lack of a better word, INSANE.
However, I like what you are trying to do. An SD on Rockies would be pretty cool. As long as you are gonna go big, 4-link it with coilovers all the way around. You can choose Kings if you like, I am partial to sway-away for big end shocks myself, but, I think that a coilover would be the way to go. I have seen big bag trucks, and have never really been impressed with them. The compromise between shock adjustment, and the changing resistance of the air in the bag during suspension cycles, is just too hard to set up. Much easier to control with a spring (coil) that has a constant resistance every time, at every position of the cycle, and a shock that can be tuned to control the resistance for optimum performance. Not to mention, it just looks friggen cool. Anyway, good luck with your ride, whatever you decide to do.

If you want to fit 54" Boggers on there while still being SAFE on the road, then keep the 8" lift you got on there now and cut the fenders. I tell you right now, if I see you on the road, I will run the opposite way and I might call the cops. 30" of mall-crawler lift is down right dangerous to other people on the roads.
