2002 Explorer Key Pad
I have a 2002 Eddie Bauer Ford explorer. When I open a door other than the driver and lock the car using the remote the doors lock but the lights on the mirrors do not turn off. I tried using the key pad and that will not even lock the doors. Not sure if the problem is the keypad or something in the locks. Once the car is turned on I immediately get a "door ajar" error.

Sounds like a bad door switch light. In the '03 it's inside the door as opposed to on the post. I think the '02 is like that too. Search the threads here for the words "door light switch" without the quotes. There are several people who have discussed spraying WD40 into the door to loosen up the switch when it hangs.
