Okay, Dan wins...
I was almost led astray by the HAMB board on my '36...kept listening to guys about "traditional hotrods" and splitting the wishbone, etc., etc., and how an IFS wouldn't "ride much better.
Talked with my dad (who drove the '36 back in the day) and said my '57 Chevy with staright axle and leaf springs gave a better ride than the '36...heck, I want a better ride than the '57 has
So, if in fact the guy does come back in February and drop the duckets on me for the '59, I've decided to go with the heidt's SuperRide 2...yes, expensive, but that's gonna be the way I go.
So what am I going to do with the '36 Front end and stuff? Was going to sell it all off to help the cost of the Heidt's...but got to thinking, since it's already converted to the 5 on 5.5 drums and juice brakes...it'd make a good fit in the '31 or '32 Dodge frame I have and make a roaster PU with a suicide front end on it...sooo...looks like two projects will be in the shop at the same time...while I'm waiting for money on one, I'll start peicing the other together...back and forth, off and on. I also have a '40 Ford car rearend, and thanks to the HAMB, found out how to convert it to open drive....
So really, by doing two things at once I:
Get the '36 going
Get the Dodge going (in the process clear up space)
Use the 318 I had rebuilt for a Motorhome-again, clear more space-alng with one of the 727A's I've been tripping over-again, clear more room.
So see:
Plenty of work to do, clean things up at the same time, have fun doing it!

I'm going to be reaching a point of no return soon...I brought the frame into the shop today and sat it behind the '36...peened the rails on the current axle's centerline in the 36, and will pull the frontend out tomorrow and slide under the Dodge frame.
Hope the guy get's anxious about my '59 and comes back soon...otherwise I could be too deep into the RPU to turn back...
Hey, first one with a rolling chassis and drivetrain...wins.

I don't think it's too many projects...I can still coount'em on my fingers
Although if this guy i found on CL wil trade me my 3-wheeler for his Honda Dream...I may need to pull a sock off to keep count
But looks like my timing is right this week...my deposit as of last noght for the '59 "is in the mail". That will clear some room.
I also had a guy wanting a '57 grille, then when he found out how many '55-9-Chevy parts I had, he want's everything, seems he's getting into the customizing business in So Cal., so that will clear up a small box van for me, as well as other space...so I can spend some time moving stuff around.
If the stars are all in alignment...come Spring I may actually have two shop spaces that look like a shop...and not storage areas
